Obituary

Name in the paper: Helen Louise Thompson Lee
Helen Louise Thompson Lee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 6, 1932 in Beaver, Utah to Warren and Pearl Thompson. On December 27th 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Merrill C. Lee in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity.
Mom served for many years over the genealogy extraction program for the Beaver Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She and Dad also served as ordinance workers in the St. George Temple for 20 years. They also served an eighteen month LDS Temple Mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. Mom held numerous callings at both the Stake and Ward levels. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mom was always willing and eager to be of service to her family, friends, and neighbors.
Mom was a very accomplished quilter. She was an officer in the Utah Quilt Guild, a founding member of the Patchwork Pals Quilt Guild in Beaver, Utah, and won many awards at state and county fairs for her quilting. She made each grandchild a quilt when they were born, graduated high school, and for their weddings. Other hobbies include crochet, knitting, embroidery, sewing, and other needle arts. Mom also loved to cook, bake, and bottle anything that her husband would grow. She loved being in the outdoors, especially Indian Creek, and loved camping and fishing.
Mom’s greatest love was her family and she loved to chaperone her children in their many adventures. Mom had a quick wit and was often planning her next good practical joke. Mom loved and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved attending every event in each of their lives until the end of her own. Mom will be sorely missed by all.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Pearl Thompson, and one brother, Joe W. She is survived by her beloved husband, Merrill, four children Randy (Linda) of Spanish Fork, Kevin (Tami) of Saratoga Springs, Lesa (Kipp) of Clearfield, and Jeff (Janis) of North Logan, 17 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Reed of Vaughn Montana.
